Theatre: the sky (Olympian City)
The film recreates the situation as the struggle against French colonialism from 1945 to 1954. Tam is a young woman who plays Vietnamese traditional one-string zither and sings Xam folk songs. After helping a revolutionary soldier, her grandfather is shot dead by the enemy. Tam follows the revolutionary path, taking on the mission to Con Dao Island as a doctor to treat prisoners and work with the revolutionary organization.
Dao Duy Phuc, Ha Noi born Vietnamese film director. He graduated from Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema majoring in Film Directing, and afterwards joined the film production training program at the University of Southern California in 2007. Currently the Vice President of the Hanoi Film Association, member of the Executive Committee of the Hanoi Union of Literature and Arts Associations, and visiting lecturer at the Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema. He has made various television films, features and documentaries, and was awarded the Golden Kite Award by Vietnam Film Association. He was also awarded the Best Local Television Drama at the 2017 Tokyo International Television Festival with TV drama Duoi bau troi xa cach (Under the Distant Sky).
Nguyen Manh Ha, born in Ha Noi, is a Vietnamese film director graduated from Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema majoring in Film Directing. He has been directing in both television and cinema. Currently works as the film director at Film No.1 Joint Stock Company.
